Just returned from a week at the hotel of pini.Nel Overall our stay was very pleasant.
The location is enviable, almost unica.L 'hotel is surrounded by a beautiful pine forest just a short walk from a breathtaking sea. Alternatively you can have the new swimming pool with beautiful sea view: very very nice.
We stayed in a superior sea view ... nice private balcony from which there is access to a large shared terrace with sun loungers. Inside the room is a bit 'Spartan with a small bathroom. Only negative is the lack of audible sound insulation that makes everything that happens to the side and above and the lack of real curtains resulting in the passage of light from the early hours of the morning.
We had half board so we took advantage of the restaurant for dinner only. The menu and the restaurant's terrace on the sea are tempting, but then the dishes do not reflect the expectations. There is certainly up with hunger, but among the dishes tasted nothing particularly memorable both in taste and in presentation. Breakfast on the whole quite varied and plentiful, improved perhaps with a few typical dessert.
For lunch we used the euphonium at the little bar next to the hotel by the friendly George and Alexander.
The price includes beach service, but not beach towels whose cost is € 4 for each change. Even the beach activities (canoeing, windsurfing water bikes) are chargeable and, perhaps for this reason, I have rarely seen anyone use them. It's a hotel and not a village, but could include these services.
Nice girls mini club. Perhaps, given the presence of many families with children, this service should be improved by buying some game garden more and, perhaps, finding a fixed space for the club without relegating the baby dance in the dining room of the beach bar. You can also rent bikes, but there are no seats for children.
For those who, like us, had not the car can rely on public transport. The bus (www.arst.sardegna.it) stops right in front of the gate of the hotel and in 20 minutes takes you to the center in Alghero. Tickets can be purchased at reception: 2.50 EUR / r. Alternatively you can use the beach bus (www.cattognobus.it) for 5 euro per day leads you to Alghero or other beaches in the area. The beach bus stop within the hotel grounds, and even in this case, tickets can be purchased at reception.
In front of the 'hotel there is the adventure park cobwebs, where children, teens and adults can kick back always in the shadow of the beautiful pine forest. You can also have lunch with grilled meat or fish.
Ultimately the plus of this hotel is definitely the location: a general modernized and improved kitchen could make this hotel almost perfect.
“Extremely lovely stay”

This is a lovely location with its private andy beach and sunbeds and umbrellas included in the price of the room, quite good value.
Can't fault the cleanliness, the furnishings, beds and bathroom. A very comfortable bed and everything you would want from a 4 star hotel. The swimming pool is fabulous and in a scenic location overlooking the rocky bay and the tower in the distance makes for a lovely setting.
The staff overall were very friendly and helpful, a couple of them not as much. In the bar often too busy chatting amongst themselves to pay attention to guests. Maybe they were too busy. Who
The minus point, is really the quality of the menu in the restaurant. Not really sure how a chef can cook something with the best ingredients and end up with food that tastes of nothing! The menu was also extremely repetitive and we began to have a competition every evening trying to guess what was going to be on it. The only salvation was the marvellous buffet of starters every night and the Sardinian evening on a Friday including a BBQ and freshly made desserts.
“Lovely hotel set in stunning scenery”

We have just got back from a 9 day stay at the hotel - it was really lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the setting of the hotel is stunning. It is set amongst the pines and the gardens are beautifully kept - the beach is wonderful and very clean. The pool is stunning - great views along the coast as it is slightly elevated.
Contrary to other reviews, you don't need a car if you don't want to go further afield than Alghero. There are two different bus services that take you to and from Alghero - they pick you up right outside of the hotel - just ask reception for timetables - the journey takes 20 minutes and costs a few Euros.
We were half board and at lunch time would eat at one of the 3 beach snack bars a few minutes up the beach from the hotel and in the evenings there is a lovely pizzeria, "Pizza Paradise" (also serving great pasta and wines) 10 minutes walk away - great value for money and the best pizza I've ever had!
Having heard that Sardinia can be really expensive, we were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be going back.
Thank you to all who work at the hotel for making it such a wonderful holiday!
Nicola and James.

What charm is definitely the location, on a piece of beautiful beach and sea. The rear Pineta offers a nice view from the rooms also no sea view. Excellent service, even breakfast and dinner always with assortment and quality of food. Very helpful staff, shuttle service that connects in Alghero, which you see beyond the baia.Ogni year we go back for a weekend and we do not ever disappointed.
“a most relaxing stay”

I have just returned from a stay of four nights. It was the most relaxing holiday. The hotel is beautifully situated on a gorgeous beach with sun beds and umbrellas. Because the hotel is not too big, it has a very intimate feel.. We were three family groups and we had a wonderful time together enjoying our meals, hanging out on the beach sitting around in the evening talking or playing cards, The staff are lovely. The pool area is really nice. We chose half board and enjoyed breakfast and dinner on an inclusive basis. We loved the ritual of the dinners at our table every evening.
I found it hard to leave as life was so simple there. The airport is ten minutes from the hotel and is a small airport, easy to get in and out of. In such a short time, we were at the hotel. The view is the real star of the hotel as all the public spaces are built so that one is always looking out to sea. We did go to Alghero for one dinner at Ristorante O and had an incredible meal overlooking the harbor. The taxi cost 30 euro to get there. This was my first visit to Sardinia and I will definitely be back. Our wifi was great as was our air conditioning. The beds are harder than I would like but I was the only one of 12 who felt this way. Our room was nicely decorated. There is little value in cable TV for English speakers. We took a boat excursion and we really enjoyed it. I will go back to Hotel del Pini and would particularly recommend it for families.
